Leah Oates
Photographer Leah Oates was born in Boston and raised between Boston and Maine. She received her BFA from R.I.S.D. and her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Oates’ recent solo shows have been exhibited at the Arsenal Gallery, NY; The Center for Book Arts, NY; A4L Gallery, NY; Tomasulo Gallery, NJ; Real Art Ways, CT; Sara Nightingale Gallery, NY; and Sol Mednick Gallery, Philadelphia University of the Arts.
Oates has shown in group exhibitions with the Art in Embassies Program, Oman; Flux Factory; Wave Hill; Momenta Art; Elizabeth Heskin Contemporary, among others.
Oates is the recipient of a Fulbright Fellowship for Study in Scotland, two grants from Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs, and a grant from Artist Space, NY.
The artist currently lives and works in Brooklyn with her husband and son.
